Total Losses

Do I want to see BYU Football lose any games on their current future schedules? No, of course not, but if BYU is going to join a conference, this is the way that it has to be.

When we really look at things however, here is the complete list of games that the Cougars would be giving up in all likelihood:

  • Wyoming
  • Liberty
  • Dix State (twice)
  • East Carolina (twice)
  • Rice
  • Southern Utah
  • UNLV
  • South Florida
  • Utah State (3-4 times)
  • NC State
  • Minnesota
  • Virginia
  • Arizona
  • Stanford
  • Houston

Yes, that is a lot of teams and a lot of really fun games that the Cougars will miss out on, but when we are looking over the course of eight seasons where games will have to get cancelled or moved, this is not a bad number, especially when you consider that in exchange, the Cougars will get eight Big 12 opponents every season and a chance to play for a spot in the College Football Playoff and NY6 Bowls.
