This is where things start to get interesting. The Cougars would likely ask Utah State for a two year break (or longer) and play a conference game in week two if at all possible. The Cougars would do everything they could to keep Tennessee, Virginia and Arkansas on the schedule since all three of those games are on the back end of a home and home.

Again, Boise State and UCF are likely conference games at this point, leaving the Cougars with only one game left between Rice, Fresno State, USF, UNLV, Southern Utah and USC. While the Cougars would like to have an easier opponent in 2023 after 11 straight P5 games, the Cougars likely will have the toughest time getting out of the USC game. The Cougars would also likely get out of the Rice deal for free if they keep their end of their deal in 2025.

Yes, in 2023, the Cougars very well may play a P5 game every single week. I hope Conover is ready!
