BYU Football has the tall task of preparing for ranked Utah this week after taking down Arizona 24-16 in the season opener.

BYU Football gave off an overall “meh” feeling to the season opener against Arizona. While the Cougars did pull away with the win, it wasn’t the type of win that Cougar fans got used to having last season. And that is okay. As fans we can’t expect to be Alabama year in and year out blowing out opponents by 40 points a game.

While the first game of the season often is not a good gauge of how the rest of the season will go, there are still things that can be learned. While it is always a mystery in game one whether certain things happened just because of the opponent or whether it is a trend, I noticed three takeaways that will likely have an impact on the rest of the season.
