Pac 12 South Champions

Okay, yes I know no matter what happens BYU will not be playing for the Pac 12 South Division or even have any recognition at all for being involved in it, but the Cougars can send quite a message to the Pac 12, and at the same time send a very strong message to the Big 12 and the rest of the nation that the Big 12 is a better conference than the Pac 12.

As it currently stands, many are starting to claim that the Pac 12 is a better conference than what the Big 12 will be in a few years. But if BYU starts off 3-0 (and likely will be 4-0 after Wash St) that idea may start to sway back in the Big 12’s favor. And with USC just announcing that Clay Helton is out of USC, suddenly it is looking very possible that the Cougars could roll into SoCal and upset the Trojans for the second time in three years.

With TV contracts and possible future expansion still a possibility, BYU needs to do everything they can to help build up the image of the Big 12, even if they themselves are not officially playing in the conference yet.
