BYU Offense vs Utah State Defense
The Aggie defense is not considered very good. While they may be a bit better than South Florida’s, BYU should have no issue at all moving the ball. Last week, although 35 points didn’t scream offensive success, the Cougars had zero three and outs and only punted the ball once. In fact, they scored on five of their seven possessions with the other empty possession coming at the end of a long drive and blocked field goal.
To this point in the season, the Aggies have given up 31 points per game, far more than any other opponent that the Cougars have faced this season. With the quick pace that Utah State likes to play at, don’t be surprised if the Cougars finally top 40 points this weekend.
The biggest threat will be Justin Rice who is leading the USU defense in tackles and interceptions. If the Cougars can (and they should be able to) avoid Rice, the Cougars should have very little issue moving the ball.
