No. 5 Eye Candy/Dressing

Something that I thought we would see a lot more of would be pre snap movement and decoys. Rewatching the games however, the Cougars aren’t really using a lot of distraction before the snap on offense or defense. This makes it easier for the opposing team to stick to their plan and not second think.

The actual play calling has been find with a mixture of trick plays, misdirection and play action, but the before snap game has been lacking in a big way.

Shifting out a receiver or disguising a blitz could go a long way in the Cougars effectiveness because if nothing else it would freeze the opposing team for just a brief half second. In a game of inches and seconds, that half second could be the difference in converting a third down or having to punt.
