BYU Football: Score Prediction for BYU vs Baylor
By Adam Gibby
Baylor Offense vs BYU Defense
Baylor’s offense in one year has gone from one of the worst to being one of the better scoring offenses in the country averaging 38.3 points per game. Granted some of those points can be attributed to 66 points against Texas Southern, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that is offense can put up a bunch of points.
Quarterback Garry Bohanon has been solid this year throwing for 11 touchdowns and no interceptions. He isn’t much of a running threat, only averaging three yards per carry, but he is effective with his legs to extend plays.
The Bears are also very balanced. On the season they have 1,398 yards passing and 1,342 yards rushing. To this point in the season, the BYU defense hasn’t had to prepare for a team this well balanced.
Like the Baylor defense against BYU’s offense, it will be interesting to see if the knowledge and coaching style of Mateos and Grimes will make a difference. While they don’t know the players personally like Mateos and Grimes do for BYU, they may be able to recognize patterns and tendencies from just last year.
