Score Prediction

The metrics say that this should be a very close game. While the betting lines favor Baylor, some of that is the overall optimism around Baylor following their big win and the pessimism of BYU after they lost on ABC last week.

This game feels a lot like the Utah game where whichever team can grab the momentum and protect the ball will likely be the team with more points at the end of the game. Overall, I think the coaching storyline will end up being a significant game changer. If Mateos and Grimes and expose the offensive line and cause havoc in the backfield then Baylor will likely win. If the Cougar defense can see a play run before it happens based off of a formation, BYU wins.

This is going to be a great game. Sort of like the Tennessee game a few years ago where neither team plays particular great, but both do enough to keep it a close game. In the end, if Jaren Hall is running, he has the advantage and ability to put together a late score much better than Baylor’s quarterback can.

Score: BYU 28 Baylor 27
