2. Recruiting

BYU Football appears to be on track to have their best recruiting class since…ever? While the Big 12 inclusion and last year’s No. 11 AP final ranking have a big say in all of that, if the Cougars can find a way to finish ranked this season, it will only help their cause. Could BYU get another couple of four star athletes? It is definitely possible, especially if the Cougars end with a 10-3 or better overall record.

Aside from just winning recruits over, having a great, but not elite season will also keep players from transferring. Nothing says transfer portal more than being a borderline starter on a team that loses four of their last six games. Would finishing 10-3 keep a receiver or running back who is thinking about leaving to stay? It couldn’t hurt.
