BYU Football hopes to be ranked in the first College Football Playoff rankings this Tuesday.

The College Football Playoff rankings are odd and unique. Whether you love them or hate them, they are what run and determine the postseason bowl games (for the most part) in college football which makes them very, very important.

After a couple of years of head scratching decisions and snubs, I finally decided to dig deep into what the committee does, and does not look at in determining the rankings. After looking at it under a microscope, while the way and methods that they use to determine the rankings are still questionable and debatable, their consistency and system of ranking teams is actually very consistent.

Here is what I found.
