BYU Football clocked in at No. 14 in the most recent College Football Playoff rankings.

BYU Football bumped up one spot in this week’s CFP rankings after taking down FCS foe 59-14 last weekend. While some hoped the Cougars would jump up another spot or two, going up one spot in the rankings feels as if the Cougars held serve in their NY6 hopes.

So what has to happen? That is a very complicated question, but the good news is that it can answered, at least in part. It all has to do with the remaining schedules of the teams all around BYU in the rankings.

While the fate of the Cougars still lies heavily outside of their own control, there are a few key points that suggest that BYU Football is in a great position to play on January 1st.
