Plenty of Big Matchups

As the season goes on, more and more big matchups take place. With plenty of big matchups remaining. The Cougars have a really good chance to take advantage of them. Obviously some of these can go in a bad direction for BYU, but the opportunity is still there. Here are just some of the big games that can affect the Cougars.

  • No. 15 Ole Miss vs No. 11 Texas A&M
  • No. 8 Oklahoma vs No. 13 Baylor
  • No. 16 NC State vs No. 12 Wake Forest
  • No. 25 Arkansas vs No. 2 Alabama
  • No. 3 Oregon vs No. 24 Utah
  • No. 7 Michigan State vs No. 4 Ohio State
  • No. 2 Alabama vs No. 17 Auburn
  • No. 9 Notre Dame vs Virginia
  • No. 8 Oklahoma vs No. 10 Oklahoma State
  • SEC Championship Game (No. 2 Alabama vs No. 1 Georgia)
  • Big 12 Championship Game (No. 8 Oklahoma vs No. 10 Oklahoma State)
  • Big 10 Championship (No. 17 Wisconsin vs No. 4 Ohio State)
  • Pac 12 Championship (No. 3 Oregon vs No. 24 Utah)

Let’s say that just 40% of these games have favorable results for the Cougars. One would imagine that this would move the Cougars up to the 10-11 range in the rankings which is exactly where they need to be for a chance at a NY6. And this list isn’t even including potential upsets, that can and will absolutely happen, especially with rivalry week still coming up.

If you throw in one or two head scratching losses by a Top 15, BYU Football can almost become a lock for a NY6.
