BYU Football’s NY6 dream is hanging by a thread.

It is no secret at this point that BYU’s chances of playing in a New Year Six Bowl is somewhere between a needle in a haystack and Utah acknowledging their loss to BYU. So, not very high.

But there is still a chance. And that is more than 114 other teams in the FBS can say including 47 P5 teams. But what needs to happen? To this point there have been some different options, but now it appears that there is realistically only one route that involves four and possibly five games going BYU’s way.

Again, of course this is not impossible, but when you multiple the odds of every game going in BYU’s favor, the odds are somewhere in the 7-9% depending on which source you are looking at.  But let’s be honest, if someone came up to you at the start of the season and asked what percentage chance you gave BYU on making it to a NY6 this year, the answer would not have been anything more than 1%
