At-Large Bids

For the seeds No. 7 through No. 16 it would be off of an at-large basis. These teams would be selected from the rankings in the order that they appear. The exception to this rule would be in a situation where two teams from the same conference would be squared off to face each other in the first round. For example, No. 7 and No. 10 would normally play each other, but if those two teams were from the same conference No. 10 would drop to No. 11 to avoid the matchup.

This year, those rankings would look as follows:

7 – Georgia

8 – Notre Dame

9 – Ohio State

10 – Ole Miss

11 – Oklahoma State

12 – Michigan State

13 – BYU

14 – Oregon

15 – Iowa

16 – Oklahoma
