Games to Keep: Nevada, at Utah, Utah State
Generally speaking, I am not necessarily a huge fan of keeping Utah State on the schedule. I believe that they are a solid opponent to rotate into the schedule every few years, and 2024 seems like that kind of season.
The Cougars have already agreed to play Nevada and playing against Utah after a two year hiatus is an obvious choice. That leaves the need for a third game, and quite honestly, I think that playing Utah State is a good option as opposed to another G5 school currently on the schedule.
This schedule would keep things very local in the non-conference and have the feel of an SEC schedule where BYU literally would not leave a one hour radius of Provo for the first month of the season.
Fourth Team if Added: at UNLV
Yes, it sounds weird to advocate for an away game against UNLV, but the game is scheduled to be played at Allegiant Stadium. If you can get into that stadium, you get there.
