BYU Football: Which non conference games BYU should keep

Games to Keep: at Miami, at Utah, FCS School
This is another example of well, doing what you’ve got to do. BYU Football can’t not play Miami. Miami is the kind of game that needs to happen. In fact, I considered for half a second getting rid of the Utah game to keep Miami. That being said, I don’t want BYU and Utah to build the kind of relationship that they just drop each other for any team. If this rivalry is going to continue, each side needs to be willing to play each other, even when less convenient.
Of all the years, aside from perhaps 2024 this is the year to get the easiest FCS school possible. The FCS game needs to be the kind of game where the starters are resting by the start of the second half and not having to open up their playbook. Obviously it is tough to schedule a guaranteed bad team years before, but let’s just say Weber State will probably always be better than Dixie State, so the Cougars should look that way first.
Fourth Game if Available: at Troy
BYU technically owes this game to Troy from the 2020 Covid year. While the contract should allow BYU to get out of this game without much issue, it would be good for BYU to make this trip. It would also give fans in that part of the country a game to go to.
