The sky is falling

A few months ago, I wrote an article suggesting that Mark Pope is following an eerily similiar path as former BYU Football coach Gary Crowton. I never said that the final destination would be the same, or that the two were even likely to end in the same spot, but the similarities are there, at least to this point.

If this pattern were to continue, then yes the sky is falling. Realistically as of right now, the two deep for next year are:

  • Point Guard – Trey Stewart, Dallin Hall
  • Guard – Spencer Johnson, Tanner Toolson
  • Guard – Seneca Knight, Richie Saunders
  • Forward – Trevin Knell, ???????
  • Forward – Fousse Traore, Atiki Ally-Atiki

That is….not ideal. Whoever the point guard is, they won’t have any experience running Mark Pope’s offense in a game. As of right now, Knell will probably have to play the four with a transfer coming in to help out. Also, who are the scorers going to be? Johnson? One of the RM’s?

From this standpoint, things are not looking good for next season, and going into the Big 12.
