Jake Oldroyd

At times he is the most dependable kicker in the nation. At other times he can’t seem to make a chip shot if not on the right hash. He also has struggled with injuries throughout his career.

During 2020 Oldroyd was a perfect 13 for 13 on field goals, including a long of of 54 yards. In 2021, Oldroyd had a stretch of going two for five in a three game span.

During his four year career, Oldroyd has made:

  • 2016- 3 for 4 (.750)
  • 2019 – 16 for 24 (.669)
  • 2020 – 13 for 13 (1.000)
  • 2021 – 9 for 13 (.692)

In 2022, the Cougars in all likelihood will have multiple games that will come down to field goals. If Oldroyd is making under 70% of his kicks, some of those games may not fall in BYU’s favor. Expecting 100% again is unrealistic, but if Oldroyd can get into the 80-85% range, BYU’s chances of winning a few close games goes way up.
