March Madness: When is Selection Sunday?

It is March my friends. You know what that means. Have you ever seen the videos of people going around college campuses asking students what songs they are listening to? I wonder how many would say the March Madness theme, I know I would.

The first major moment in March Madness is Selection Sunday.

What is Selection Sunday?

Selection Sunday is the day when the NCAA Selection Committee announces the official NCAA Tournament bracket. This will include the teams that are in the tourney, their respectives seeds, and the region they will be playing in.

When is Selection Sunday?

Selection Sunday will be on Sunday, March 16th, 2025. The program will begin at 4 p.m. MST. The men's bracket will be announced first, and then the women's bracket.

Where can I watch?

The Selection Sunday broadcast for the men's bracket will be broadcast live on CBS, while the women's bracket will be revealed on ESPN around 6 pm MST.

March Madness Dates

Men's Tournament

  • First Four: March 18-19
  • First round: March 20-21
  • Second round: March 22-23
  • Sweet 16: March 27-28
  • Elite Eight: March 29-30
  • Final Four: April 5 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas
  • NCAA championship game: April 7 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas

Women's Tournament

  • First Four: March 19-20
  • First round: March 21-22
  • Second round: March 23-24
  • Sweet 16: March 28-29
  • Elite Eight: March 30-31
  • Final Four: Friday, April 4 at 7 p.m. with the second semifinal starting 30 minutes after the first game ends. Both will be at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida
  • NCAA championship game: Sunday, April 6 at 3 p.m. ET on ABC, hosted at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida
