First Round
Steve Young
Steve Young has the unique claim of being drafted twice. He was selected first overall in the 1984 USFL draft. When the USFL faltered, Young left for the NFL and was selected first overall in the 1984 NFL supplemental draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Young struggled early on with the Buccaneers and was eventually traded to the San Francisco 49ers. After being the backup to Hall-of-famer Joe Montana for a few years, Young took over as the starter and led the team to a victory in Super Bowl XXIX. Young’s career stats include 33,124 passing yards, 4,239 rushing yards, 232 passing touchdowns, and 43 rushing touchdowns. He was voted MVP twice, was a pro-bowler 7 times, and set a record for most passing touchdowns in the Super Bowl.
