BYU football has a reputation as a quarterback factory, but where would quarterbacks be without wide receivers? The sure-handed safety nets at the end of every pass deserve their days in the sun, so that's what were giving them.
Here are the best BYU football wide-outs since the year 2000.
1. Austin Collie

Collie is easily the greatest BYU receiver of all time. His career and season highs in receptions, yards, and touchdowns are all in the top three, and he only played three seasons at BYU. He had 215 catches (3rd all-time in BYU history), 3,255 yards (2nd), and 30 touchdown catches (2nd). His single-season records set in 2008 are 106 catches for 1,533 yards and 15 touchdowns. These were good enough for him to be an All-American before he left BYU.
2. Puka Nacua

Puka Nacua played at an elite level at a crucial time for BYU football. They had just gotten invited to the Big 12 and had two more years of Independence when Nacua blasted off for BYU. Without him, they don’t go 18-8 in their final two years of Independence and maybe the Big 12 starts to have buyer’s remorse for the invitation. He had 91 catches for 1,430 yards and 11 receiving touchdowns while at BYU.
He also added 357 yards and five touchdowns on the ground, rushing the football. Nacua was very selfless at BYU, making most of those rushing yards and all of those rushing touchdowns in his final year at BYU when the Cougars had trouble running the football after the legendary Tyler Allgeier moved on to the NFL. Nacua helped there, even when it took away his receiving production and caused him to miss a few games with injuries. Nacua played with the heart of a (mountain) lion.
3. Chase Roberts

Roberts has had an impact at BYU since he carried BYU to an upset win over top 10 Baylor in 2022, and he’s got this fall to add to his legacy. Roberts has 116 catches for 1,784 yards and 12 total touchdowns (one of which was a touchdown pass to quarterback Jaren Hall in the 2022 win over Baylor). Whoever wins the quarterback competition for BYU this year will rely heavily on Chase Roberts to keep making quarterbacks look good.
4. Cody Hoffman

Cody Hoffman was an instant starter at BYU and maintained a high level of play for four years for the Cougars. He was to the BYU offense at that time what Kyle Van Noy was to the defense. They provided leadership and stability as BYU transitioned from a Group of Five conference to independence, ultimately leading to their current position in the Big 12. Hoffman had 260 catches for 3,612 yards and 33 touchdowns, all of which are all-time BYU records.
5. Reno Mahe

Mahe had 150 catches for 1,982 yards and 12 total touchdowns for BYU. 91 of those catches, 1,211 of those yards, and nine of those touchdowns came in BYU’s 12-win 2001 season. Brandon Doman, Luke Staley, and Reno Mahe made for one of the best QB-RB-WR combinations in BYU history.
