BYU Recruiting: Tevita Mounga Commits To BYU
By Jeff Hansen
Tevita Mounga is a 295 lb. defensive tackle from Viesta Murrieta High School in Murrieta, CA and he just announced on Twitter that he will be bringing this talents to Provo when he takes his game to the next level.
Mounga is a great player and a very solid get for BYU. Check out his highlights here.
Rated a 3-star athlete by 247sports.com, Scout.com and Rivals.com, Mounga turned down the likes of Washington, Utah and Arizona among other schools to attend BYU. He has next-level talent and his resume of scholarship offers demonstrates exactly how talented Mounga is.

At 6’1″ tall and at least 295 pounds, Mounga already has the college body. I’m not sure if he has mission plans or not, but either way, when he comes to BYU he’ll remind a lot of fans of former Cougar Romney Fuga. Mounga can eat up blocks and in his film when teams try to take him on one-on-one he shows the ability to shed those blocks and make a tackle. That sounds a lot like Fuga. With Teancum Fuga and Mounga in the mix, BYU has a couple of really big options to stick on the defensive line going forward.
Mounga played with current BYU player Tyler Cook in high school and it will be interesting to see them reunited in Provo.
