The BYU football team will travel 8,349 miles and visit five different time zones this upcoming season.

BYU football has a big year in 2017. It might take some luck, but a New Year’s Six bowl game may be possible.

In order to do that, the Cougars will have to win some huge games in Provo, but that’s not all. They’ll also have tall tasks in the form of road games.

Here’s a preview at how BYU football has fared as a visitor at each of the away stadiums on the 2017 schedule.

NRG Stadium

Where: Houston, Texas

Capacity: 71,795

BYU football’s all-time record: 1-0 (2013, 47-46 win vs. Houston)

The Cougars return to NRG Stadium to take on the LSU Tigers in the AdvoCare Texas Kickoff Classic on Sept. 2.

BYU’s only previous trip to the stadium was a 47-46 win over Houston, which was capped by an 11-yard touchdown pass from Taysom Hill to Skyler Ridley with 1:08 on the clock.

According to the Daily Herald, BYU has played in 11 different NFL stadiums since 1976. NRG Stadium hosted Super Bowl LI in February and is the home of the Houston Texans.

LSU returns to NRG Stadium after having defeated No. 14 Wisconsin 28-24 in the 2014 edition of the event.
