Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium

Where: Greenville, North Carolina

Capacity: 50,000

This season will mark the first trip to Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium for BYU.

The Cougars defeated East Carolina 45-38 in 2015 at LaVell Edwards Stadium in the only previous matchup between the programs.

The stadium was expanded in 2009 to reach the current capacity of 50,000 and another wave of renovation is scheduled to begin after the 2017 season.

At the visitors’ entrance to the stadium is a plaque commemorating the 1970 Marshall University football team. This was the team that suffered the tragic plane crash which killed all 75 people aboard. Earlier that day, the Thundering Herd lost 17-14 to East Carolina at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium.
