These were the golden days of basketball in the Mountain West Conference.

Big runs, aggressive defense, athletes and shooters. Everyone wanting to get up and down the court, to attack and score (well, expect for Air Force).

This game wasn’t the super-show that would be these teams facing off the next year. But Jimmer vs Kawhi Year One was still a great showcase of all that’s good in the college game.

BYU basketball started hot behind Tyler Haws. His game showed signs of what he would become when he would be the Y’s main scorer. Then the Aztecs made a big run, relying on Kawhi’s rebounding dominance in their classic “throw it up and get it” style of ball.

But in the clutch, Jimmer could not be denied, and his 33 points sealed the win for the Cougars.
