Utah QB Troy Williams

Utah’s offense is going to look a little different this year. Starting left tackle Garrett Bolles is in the NFL, as is starting running back Joe Williams. Plus, three of the Utes’ top four receivers are gone. But they will still want to play smash-mouth football, and they’ll still be led by signal caller Troy Williams.

Williams was inconsistent last season. In Utah’s 31-27 victory over USC, he completed 21-of-24 passes for 270 yards and a touchdown. He added 17 yards and a touchdown on the ground. In that game, Williams was as close to perfect as you can get.

Then against Oregon State he completed just 4-of-13 passes for 42 yards. He also ran for 40 yards with one touchdown and one fumble.

Still, Williams is a smart player and a good athlete. BYU will need to shut him down to get a Holy War win in Provo.
