BYU football’s tribute to LaVell Edwards continues throughout 2017

Beyond football

He was known as more than just a coach. Players, family, friends, and others who knew the man speak highly of his character and mentorship.

I think it is telling that so many former players never mention football when it comes to LaVell. They always speak of the man as a father figure and reflect on the life lessons he shared.

Those things go way beyond football. For as big as football is, it pales in comparison to the impact LaVell made off the field.

As expected, moments of honor and tribute to the legendary coach continue to unfold from BYU. This 2017 football season is still months away, it is proving itself as unique and exciting one on many levels.
