No. 3: Make Danny Etling beat you

If you’re BYU football, the goal against LSU is this: Make QB Danny Etling beat you with his arm.

Because, quite frankly, he probably won’t.

LSU has had quarterback troubles for quite some time now – and it doesn’t really look like Etling will change that. He’s a game-manager. His job is to not turn the ball over, make the safe throws and hand the ball off to Guice.

He isn’t really mobile, so that plays in BYU football’s favor. He does have a good arm, but he’s never set the world on fire as a passer.

Last season he completed 59 percent of his throws and tossed 11 touchdowns. He also averaged 7.8 yards per attempt.

The trouble for the Cougars will be keeping up with the speed of the Tigers. But if they can stuff the run and force Etling to beat them, they’ll have a shot at a win.
