Postseason: Lost in First Round of NCAA Tournament against TCU

Soccer a lot like baseball had a very different season than they did the year before. In 2017, the Cougars had perhaps the worst season since the turn of the century going 7-8-4. Coming into the 2018 season, there was no expectations of anything great since there was only one senior on the roster and a lot of freshmen being put into the starting lineup.

Behind leaders like Maddie Siddoway-Gates, Rachel Bingham Lyman and Lizzy Braby the team was able to use many freshmen and pull off a 13-5-1 record, including a 9-1 finish to the regular season. The highlight of the season came after shocking No. 6 ranked Santa Clara to steal the WCC Championship and earn the automatic bid the NCAA Tournament.

That was enough for this team.  They went on to lose to TCU in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, but for this young team and where it came from, this was enough of an accomplishment.
