College football is on its head, and the system that governs which teams are good, and which teams are lousy pretenders--the top 25 rankings--has been unequivocally wrong at every turn about teams like BYU, Indiana, Iowa State, and other teams who have been punished for not owning the blue-blood brand names of the Texas, Notre Dame, and Clemson teams above them.
Some have already made an effort to apologize for the exclusion of several teams from the "club", but with 4-5 games remaining on every team's schedule now, it's time to re-evaluate where our priorities lie, and analyze this college football season with fresh eyes.
Though they were a mystery to us in this season's first few weeks, the likes of these undefeated nobodies shouldn't shock us when they earn their 8th straight win. If we can take in everything we know about football this season, and take these teams for what they are now--ignoring what we thought of them before they even touched a football field in the preseason--we can hopefully see what may come next.
That's the plan, anyway. I don't have a way to see the future, yet I've been tasked with projecting the 12-team College Football Playoff layout, and I think it's time to refresh my page and take a renewed viewpoint on the postseason.
It's still too early to know, guys.
