Fun fact No. 2 - He was a junior college transfer to BYU
Dunlap joined BYU's football team before the 2023 season as a relatively unheralded junior college transfer. Prior to Provo he played at Cerritos College in California. He was rated a three-star, 83 overall transfer prospect by 247 Sports.
The 6-foot-0, 185-pound cornerback appeared in three games for the Cougars in 2023 with one tackle. Last year he did his part helping the team go 11-2 by playing in six games, recording one tackle.
Fun fact No. 3 - He could be an important depth piece in 2025
While Evan Johnson, Mory Bamba, and Jonathan Kabeya are the presumed starters at corner this year, every team needs depth at one of the most important positions on the field. As he prepares for his final season of college football, Jayden Dunlap is primed to be one of the key depth pieces on BYU's two-deep depth chart, likely backing up Jonathan Kabeya at the nickle spot.
