Growing up, I remember avoiding BYU football teams in NCAA Football video games. Watching my dad and uncles gathering around the PlayStation 2, I watched as they went with Florida, Michigan, Ohio State, and Alabama, so I asked why none of them wanted to play as our favorite team.
Their response was consice. Plain. "BYU isn't very good in this game."
BYU football? Not one of the best teams in the country? As a bright-eyed Utahn child, I had never considered this possibility. How on Earth is the LDS private school from Provo, Utah, not a titan of the college football world? As I slowly began to understand football, it became clear to me that a 6-6 Mountain West team was far from a world-beater.
But a 12-2 Big 12 team? Now we're talking.
Kids have it so easy these days.
BYU football is a top-15 rated team in EA Sports latest College Football game. With an embarrassment of riches when it comes to veterans and returning talent, Kalani Sitake has assembled himself something of a giant in the college football world -- virtual and physical.
That rating is highlighted by four players rated in the top 10 of their respective positions. On offense, you have the reigning Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year, LJ Martin, returning for his senior season at tailback. And protecting Martin at center is potential All-American Bruce Mitchell on the offensive line.

But BYU football was built upon much more than its running game, as the Cougar defense is getting plenty of love from the game's developers as well. Take cornerback Evan Johnson and safety Faletau Satuala, both of whom linked up to form a no-fly zone across the Big 12 gauntlet.

Johnson makes another appearance as one of the fastest players in the game, with a rating of 96. Not far behind him is his partner in crime on the edges, Therrian Alexander III with a speed rating of 95.

BYU football is stacked with talent this season, and I haven't even mentioned stars like Bear Bachmeier, Isaiah Glasker, Cade Uluave, and many, many more.
It's a great year to be a Cougar, and an even better time to run the table with a BYU dynasty.
