BYU football is zeroing in on the best LDS receiver in the 2027 recruiting class, as Blake Wong has not only listed Kalani Sitake's program in his final five candidates, but has officially scheduled a visit to the Provo campus on June 8th of this year.
Wong, a 4-star receiver and the 20th-rated recruit from California, per 247 Sports, lists BYU as a candidate among strong programs like Oregon, Ohio State, Utah, and UCLA, as his final considerations. He'll visit BYU third in the rotation, after a May 29th trip to Salt Lake City and Morgan Scalley's University of Utah program and a June 5th trip to local UCLA.

BYU football has been in contention for Wong for a very long time now, and head coach Kalani Sitake recently joined Wong for an LDS devotional. The pair was captured smiling side-by-side in Wong's social media post following the event.

While faith is a factor in Wong's recruiting process, at the end of the day, he'll be making a decision based on not only how he fits within a program's culture, but also how well he'll fit on the field.
As an elite athlete and exceptional playmaker down the field, it'll be difficult to convince Wong that BYU provides him a better opportunity than two annual inclusions in the College Football Playoff, Oregon and Ohio State.
His ultimate goal is to play in the NFL, so Kalani Sitake will need to lean on recent success with players like Puka Nacua and Chase Roberts to convince Wong that Provo is the place to prepare him for that next step.
The chance to play alongside quarterback Bear Bachmeier and even 5-star QB Ryder Lyons in Provo is a very attractive offer, but for this 6'1" wideout to view BYU as a serious contender, he'll take a look under the hood and learn what's really going on in Kalani Sitake's garage.
