The BYU Cougars will kick off the 2026 season in 88 days against Utah Tech. As we count down the days until kickoff, today we will profile the player who wears No. 88 - freshman wide receiver Legend Glasker.
Legend Glasker's background
Glasker is a local product who prepped at nearby Lehi High School where he was a two-time All-State MVP. He is the cousin of BYU standout linebacker Isaiah Glasker, so he has families ties to the program.
The 6-foot-1, 175-pound wideout had some monster games in high school. In the state playoffs against Corner Canyon he strapped the team to his back with 10 receptions for 129 yards and an incredible four touchdowns. This "effortless" one-handed catch demonstrates Glasker's skill while still only in high school.
We've seen 1-handed catches in our time covering the state, but we can't recall one that looked as effortless as this throw and catch was by Lehi tonight!

He was a high three-star prospect at 247 Sports with an 87 rating, making him the No. 17 prospect in the state of Utah. He was originally considered an "athlete" because of his ability to play either offense or defense, but BYU was clear early on they envisioned him as a wide receiver.
His offer sheet included the likes of Big 12 rivals Utah and Kansas State. He also picked up another Power Four offer from Cal along with several FCS offers from Utah State, Washington State, Fresno State, and others. But he ultimately chose BYU, and based on his early return, the Cougars may have found a gem.
Glasker's BYU experience - past and present
As a true freshman entering his first season of college football, Legend obviously hasn't taken the field in a game for the Cougars yet, but that doesn't mean he hasn't already turned some heads.
Glasker was an early enrollee at BYU which allowed him to participate in Spring Camp. And by "participate", I actually mean "dominate". He repeatedly got behind the Cougars secondary despite having just recently set foot on campus.

In early April offensive coordinator Aaron Roderick spoke about the readiness of the wide receiver room in light of the massive departures of Chase Roberts, Parker Kingston, and Cody Hagen. When asked by a media member which players were standing out in Spring camp, Roderick specifically stated, "Legend Glasker is somebody who's really stood out this Spring. I expect him to contribute this Fall."
That's high praise from an experienced offensive coordinator about a freshman wide receiver after just a few weeks of play. BYU doesn't have a recent history of freshmen wide receivers making an impact during their first seasons in Provo, so Roderick's praise for Glasker is noteworthy given the snaps that are going to be available in a wide receiver room in flux.
Legend Glasker will be one of the more interesting players this year.
Let's hope he turns into a star in his first season in Provo.
