Kevin Young is adding another excellent hooper to the ranks of BYU basketball, and the momentum behind this program continues to surge with every new piece of information.

The 6-foot-9 big out of Lone Peak High School is a legacy Coug, with his parents both playing BYU hoops and his uncle, Chris Burgess, operating as an assistant coach with the Cougars. He was a consensus 4-star prospect and top 150 nationally according to 247 Sports.

Currently ranked as the 4th-best player in Utah for the 2025 recruiting class, Burgess currently sits behind two BYU recruits in Dybantsa and Mandaquit, so the big is in good company.

Chamberlain will add some much-needed size to BYU's front court, but plans to serve a two-year mission before joining the team in 2027.

BYU was always a frontrunner for Burgess, but his final decision split between Illinois and BYU before his commitment was announced this morning.
