We'll give you that one. That's good stuff.

For a meeting against one of the worst football teams in the nation, BYU fans certainly showed up in full force. LaVell's house was packed with its highest attendance since 2009, and there was no shortage of excitement about the incoming football season.

BYU dominated their FCS opponent to the tune of 69-0. Not too shabby. The team brought fireworks on a play-by-play basis and gave attendees more than enough excitement to produce something truly exceptional.

So what happened? Did a fan crowd-surf from end-to-end? Did Cosmo the Cougar make a Portland State fan vanish from thin air? Did Brigham Young's ghost make a personal appearance on the field of play?

No sir, something far greater occurred in the stands that day, and it's all thanks to old reliable: magic marker and some poster board.

With a surprise turn of events, the eighth-ranked and heavily favored Alabama Crimson Tide fell to the unranked Florida State Seminoles, fresh off a 2-10 season (this will all be relevant, I promise). A devastating turn of events for Bama, a perennially excellent program whose recent regime change has caught a few snags and cast shadows on the identity of one of the strongest football programs in history.

At the Tide's peak, every school in the nation had a target on their backs. If someone could slay the giant, the entire country would erupt in applause. "We want Bama" was a popular chant whenever a school felt up to the task of competing with the very best in the world.

But after the king was toppled by Florida State, the fans of LaVell Edwards Stadium began to sing a different tune.

But really, the poster speaks for itself (he said after blabbing on about why the joke is funny):

We want B̶a̶m̶a̶ Florida State.
