BYU football continues to reload its proverbial water gun for a second shot at the Big 12 super soaker water war. With a new four-star recruit joining the Cougars' roster for the upcoming season, Kalani Sitake's program will look to build off an incredible 2024 season.
That four-star propsect is none other than Bott Mulitalo, a Lone Peak football standout that had originally committed to Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks before returning to his home state for his collegiate career.

Reminiscent of previous Oregon defectors like Harrison Taggart and Kingsley Suamataia, Mulitalo is heading to BYU with the expectation of a magnified role, and a culture of faith and commitment.
The third-highest rated Utahn in his 2026 high school class and top-rated offensive lineman, Mulitalo committed to Oregon in December, before reopening his recruitment in March. BYU had been on the prowl to acquire his talents, and it's no surprise they were one of the first to pounce at the opportunity to secure his spot on the depth chart.
Mulitalo joins tight end, Brock Harris, as another top 3 Beehive State recruit to commit to BYU.
This is huge news for a football program hoping to catch up to the basketball program's meteoric rise. While the transfer portal, NIL, and recruiting landscape are entirely different for the gridiron, BYU's athletic department is making it clear that they hold every intention to remain highly competitive in the Big 12 Conference.
Big talent acquisitions like this can only help the Cougars' odds.
