Brock Harris, the No. 56 recruit nationally per 247 Sports, has committed to the BYU Cougars.
The 6-foot-6, 238-pound tight end from St. George, Utah made the commitment on Instagram Live. After thanking his coaches, teammates, and his family, Harris donned a BYU hat and announced he is committing to Kalani Sitake's squad in the class of 2026.

The highly-coveted recruit had narrowed down his list of finalist to BYU, Utah, Oregon, Michigan, Georgia, and Oregon. He's the highest-rated recruit in the state of Utah and the No. 5 tight end nationally. He could have chosen to play for any school at the next level, and he decided on Kalani Sitake, tight ends coach Kevin Gilbride, and the BYU Cougars.
Harris's composite grade of .9719 makes him the the third-highest rated prospect in BYU history behind Ben Olson (2002) and Ofa Moheatu (2003).
Coach Sitake and his staff continue to ride a wave of huge recruiting wins after their impressive 11-2 season in 2024. Harris immediately becomes the jewel of the Cougars class of 2026 and the hope now is his commitment will help sway 5-star quarterback Ryder Lyons, the No. 6 overall prospect in the nation, to join him Provo.
The expectation is Harris will serve a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints after he finishes high school, so Cougar fans may need to wait a couple of years before seeing him score touchdowns at LaVell Edwards Stadium. But for now, BYU fans can sit back and take in the moment as the Cougars continue to prove they can win recruiting battles against any top team for the nation's top prospects.
