After signing Kaue Akana, a near four-star prospect, BYU's class of 2026 has cracked the Top 25 in the country, per 247 Sports. The 16 commits currently comprising next year's class is arguably the most impressive collection of talent the team has ever assembled.

BYU is cleaning house in the state of Utah
Now as a competitive member of a Power Four conference and access to NIL funds, BYU football is finally on a level playing field with other top programs to attract top talent. This includes BYU's neighbor to the north, the University of Utah, when chasing in-state talent. Thus far, Kalani Sitake and his staff are cleaning house in the Beehive State.
According to 247 Sports, 11 of the top 15 prospects in the state of Utah have made their college commitments. Of the 11 who have committed, six of them are destined for Provo. Among the Top 15 high school players in the state, only one has committed to Utah with others destined for USC, Texas A&M, Minnesota, and Baylor.
When it comes to top players in the state of Utah, the phrase "this is the right place" applies to BYU.

The top players driving the Top 25 ranking
Three high-end, Top 100 offensive prospects are driving BYU's lofty recruiting ranking.
Five-star quarterback Ryder Lyons from California has a 98 rating and is ranked No. 13 nationally. Tight end Brock Harris from St. George, Utah is a four-star prospect with a 93 rating and ranked 67 in the country. Interior offensive lineman Bott Mulitalo, also a Utah prep star, also carries a 93 rating and is the No. 92 prospect in the nation.
But in addition to those three Top 100 talents, BYU is assembling a significant number of "high-end three-star" talents. Another seven players carry grades between 87 and 89 at 247 Sports.
In the end, this is already arguably the most talented class in the history of BYU football, and additional signings could continue to come in this summer.
Just how high can BYU's class of 2026 climb?
