BYU football has just completed two weeks of football and is 2-0. The Cougars scored four field goals and even got a safety en route to a 27-3 victory. It was far from perfect, but BYU found a way. The Cougars were strong on defense, but the offense still has some things to work on.
BYU forced three Stanford turnovers, but only cashed in three points off of them. The Cougars would get into the red zone, stall, and be forced to kick a field goal. The defense was strong, keeping Stanford out of the end zone and holding them to just a field goal. Isaiah Glasker led the charge and unleashed the beast.
BYU rushed for 157 yards and threw for 175 yards for a total of 332 yards. Stanford ran for only 19 yards and threw for 142 yards, bringing their total to 151. BYU dominated the line of scrimmage for the majority of the game and frequently pressured the quarterback, forcing two interceptions.

BYU struggled with the run game, but didn't really seem to want to pass it a lot. This conservative playcall possibly ended up costing BYU points. It needs to be cleaned up, and BYU needs to become less one-dimensional. Still, Bear Bachmier is a freshman quarterback and needs to be given time to learn and adjust to college football.
Of course, a win is still a win, and BYU should be happy to be 2-0. The Cougars have more to work on, but still show plenty of promise. There is still a long season ahead, and once the Cougars get these issues cleaned up, they will be really good. Time will tell, and BYU is no stranger to shocking the world. BYU is poised to have a great season, and I am excited to see where it goes.
