Utah's misfortune has become BYU football's good luck, as defensive standout, Keanu Tanuvasa, has transferred to join Kalani Sitake and the BYU Cougars in Provo next season, according to Pete Nakos of On3.

Tanuvasa played in 7 games for the Utes this season, tallying 17 tackles, 1 sack, and 4.5 TFLs during his 2024 campaign in Salt Lake.
Say what you will about Utah's underwhelming inaugural season in the Big 12 Conference, but there's no denying that the Utes have owned one of the nation's most ruthless defenses in recent years. 2024 was no exception.
Tanuvasa was an All-Big 12 honorable mention, likely getting snubbed due to his limited availability during the year. A freshman All-American and terror on the front lines, BYU has added their third D-Lineman through the portal already and continues to bolster what Jay Hill established to be an elite defense.
Many were skeptical of BYU's chances to secure Tanuvasa, as rumors circulated regarding USC, Michigan, and other big-time brands chasing the transfer. Fortune has favored the Cougs thus far into the offseason--Keanu will quickly become a fan favorite.
