How to watch BYU vs Houston: date, time, channel, and more
BYU football is 9-2. I know that after starting 9-0, a two-loss skid is disappointing, but understanding the historical significance of what this team has achieved to this point should transform any disappointment into tremendous pride. In this weekend's meeting with the Houston Cougars, Kalani's crew has a chance to earn back their spot in the Big 12 Championship.
Though the Cougars' fate largely lies on the results of their Big 12 peers' final regular season meetings, the odds of this team battling for their conference crown are still slightly better than a coin toss.
No matter how you flip it, BYU's football program is in its best position in over a decade. That feels pretty good.
But before we can begin reminiscing over the season that has or could have been, BYU has one more regular season matchup on their plate as the Houston Cougars head to Provo to battle their hosts under the lights of LaVell Edwards Stadium.
Houston, standing with a 4-7 record, is a curious case in the Big 12 Conference. With impressive wins over TCU, Kansas State, and Utah balanced out by shutout losses to Iowa State, Cincinnati, and an embarrassing result from their meeting with Arizona.
Houston isn't the best this conference has to offer on the gridiron, but if BYU's loss to Kansas taught us anything, it's that record doesn't matter when it comes to winning the game ahead of you.
With this game kicking off at 8:15 PM, BYU's chances of playing in the conference championship game will be clearly laid out. Win or lose, the Cougars' fate lies on the result of Arizona State and Iowa State's final matchups, and we'll know by kickoff whether or not BYU even has a chance.
But please win anyway, because who doesn't want to go 10-2?
