BYU basketball, currently sitting on a six-game hot streak, just handled business against a West Virginia team battling for their postseason life in the Marriott Center. After a cold start, the Cougars returned to form and dropped over 50 points in the second half.

Scorching the nets, locking down on defense, and elevating their position in the eyes of the NCAA Tournament selection committee along the way, first-year head coach Kevin Young has this team clicking like one of the best rosters in all of college hoops.

So what's going to happen when they actually match up with one of the best teams in the college basketball landscape in a road test against a top-15 Iowa State side led by TJ Otzelberger?

We'll find out on Tuesday.

BYU basketball's rapid ascent is no accident. While I'm certain they'd have no problem if the winning streak began at the beginning of the season -- heck, even before the TCU game -- this was a team designed to peak at the right moment. A clever mix of size, shooting, scoring, distributing, and lob threats, this BYU team is built like a modern-day NBA offense.

Efficient buckets are produced from heavy screen-and-roll usage in this offensive set, with a counter for this, and an answer for that at every corner you turn. Stopping this offense is simply not an option -- you can only hope to contain the weapon created at the hands of Coach Young.

In the final regular season opportunity to rocket up the March Madness bracket, BYU basketball will pack its bags for a dangerous trip to Ames, Iowa in a home gym that the Cyclones have only lost one contest in all season.

Guts will be checked, wills shall be tested, and a flurry of baskets must be scored in this top-25 Big 12 battle between the BYU Cougars and Iowa State Cyclones.

Of course you'll be tuning in to watch this one.
