In what will easily be the biggest NBA Summer League game on the calendar for BYU basketball fans, the Washington Wizards are squaring off against the Utah Jazz tonight in a battle between the number-one pick, AJ Dybantsa out of BYU, and the number-two pick, lifetime rival Darryn Peterson.

With a majority of BYU supporters having some major connection to Utah, the Jazz are a common NBA favorite for fans of the Cougars. So seeing the Utah Jazz's early success with Darryn Peterson can feel a bit awkward, considering how their allegiances may have shifted in the Dybantsa vs Peterson argument that has persisted since their high school days.

And Peterson has looked very good in his first appearances with the Jazz, posting scoring totals of 28 and 25 points while morphing into an unholy blend of John Stockton and Kobe Bryant in his second game against Cameron Boozer, the third overall pick and National Player of the Year with Duke, and the Memphis Grizzlies. 12 assists wasn't even within the realm of reason for those who read the pre-draft scouting report on Peterson, and now the Wizards are beginning to sweat over their decision to pass on the now-Jazz star.

But they didn't draft a slouch with the number-one pick, either, and BYU fans will be the first to tell you how dynamic and enticing AJ Dybantsa's NBA career promises to be.

A 6'9" scoring forward who lead the nation in scoring as a freshman in Provo, Dybantsa has all of the tools of a 1A superstar at the next level -- the type of player who can deliver a Larry O'Brien Trophy in the NBA Finals. He scores at all three levels, improves with every game, and has the type of unearthly athleticism to eject fans from their stadium seats.

We get our first taste of Peterson vs Dybantsa today, and you won't want to miss out.
