We've all heard about just how good BYU football's recruiting class of 2026 is after national signing day and flipping the Pula twins - Jaron and Kennan - away from rival Utah. BYU's class next year is the best in program history. It's currently ranked No. 21 in the country and is the second-best crop of talent in the Big 12, trailing only Texas Tech.
It's one thing to hear about BYU's outstanding class of 2026. It's another thing to see it.
When compared to previous years, the top end of BYU 2026 recruiting class is a step change from previous year. Take a look at how the 247 Sports ratings of the Top 10 signings in each of BYU's previous classes stack up against the Top 10 players in next year's class:
I know you've heard about how good BYU football's recruiting class of 2026 is, but if you're like me it helps to actually see a visual.

You don't need an advanced degree in statistics to mentally draw the trend line in this spreadsheet. The top end of BYU's recruiting classes continue to improve every year, and the 2026 class puts that upward trend on warp speed.
Back in 2022 BYU's Top 10 signings had a 247 Sports average rating of 86.8, or a mid-3 star talent. The average rating for the Top 10 members of the class of 2026 sport a 91.7 average, which is a solid 4-star profile.

In 2022 the Cougars signed just two players with an 88 rating or higher -- Aisea Moa and Cody Hagen, who were both 90s -- while each of the Top 10 in 2026 are ranked an 88 or higher.
In the four seasons between 2022 and 2025 BYU signed a total of nine players rated 90 or higher, which is usually where 4-star designations are given. The class of 2026 has eight players rated 90 or above.
BYU's class of 2026 is special. The level of talent coming to Provo next year is unlike anything the program has ever seen before. With Kalani Sitake locked down, his staff taken care of, and significant NIL investments promised to his team, the class of 2026 may be the new norm for the Cougars.
