BYU baseball just enjoyed perhaps its best season in the Big 12 Conference. Though they finished just 9th in the league by the end of the regular season, the BYU Cougars managed to mercy rule Texas Tech in the first round of the baseball championship, only to fall 9-13 against the 8th-seed Baylor Bears in the second round. That same Baylor team came within one run of knocking off 1-seed Kansas in the following round.
That hasn't stopped the official MLB social media accounts from highlighting the BYU program during a standout campaign, popping in to put the Cougars' uniforms on full display for the baseball world to admire.
The Cougars' standout look is the royal blue pinstripes, which they wore during the Big 12 championship. These uniforms appeared first on the MLB's platform, and deserve to be the primary look in the Cougars' rotation for years to come. One point made in this display is that the team still has designated home and away uniforms, which is an art lost to time in sports like football or basketball. Maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but I believe that sports are better and look better when the home team and away team have designated uniforms. That may be the most "old man" opinion I have about sports, but it's one I'll always hold to.
BYU finished with a 28-28 (14-16 Big 12) record on the year, tying the season series against 10th-place Utah, 2-2, and maintaining control of the Beehive State by sweeping Utah Valley 2-0 in two individual contests separated by over a month.
The Cougars tied the previous season's win total in 2025, and enjoyed a seven-win jump from the 2024 campaign.
