2024 week 4 12-team College Football Playoff rankings prediction
Georgia looks mortal, Texas is a juggernaut, and Miami could cruise to an ACC title. These are the headlines from a week 3 that was largely chalk across the top teams in college football, and as a result, our College Football Playoff predictions look largely similar from the previous week.
Despite seeming mostly unchanged, a few major narrative shifts took place on Saturday, and the playoff picture remains ever fluid. The Georgia Bulldogs crawled out of Lexington with a 1-point win over a Kentucky team that doesn't look ready to compete in a loaded SEC.
I struggled with my ranking for some time, debating whether this game was an outlier or a magnifying glass presenting severe cracks in Georgia's rotation. As of this moment, the Bulldogs look beatable, and the newcomer Texas Longhorns looked like a powerhouse, even when Quinn Ewers left the game. That level of depth is enough to win in the postseason, and Sark's squad is primed for contention.
Utah made it back into our rankings after struggling early on against in-state rival Utah State. It's clear that the Utes need Cam Rising to make a case for the Big 12 championship. Freshman Isaac Wilson stepped up in the end, but a competitive game against a rebuilding Mountain West squad could spell trouble if the Utes' signal caller stays on the sidelines.
