Mag may be relatively unknown to BYU fans, but the grad transfer from Rutgers took a visit to BYU campus right before the dead period, so it's time that you get to know him.

Mag spent four seasons at Rutgers and built a reputation as one of college basketball's best defenders. Standing at 6'7", Mag has been credited as the anchor of the Scarlet Knights' defensive unit. He struggles to find consistency on offense away from the rim, but is far from a liability on the offensive end. He's willing to cut and find open spots in the defense, but he won't shoot you out of the game--if he can't get it going, he won't force it.

Maryland's head coach called Mag the "best college defender he's seen in a long, long time" and added that Rutger's defense was 100% Mag. To compete with some of the toughest defenses in the Big 12, like Houston and Iowa State, adding a defensive specialist like Mag would be a great step in the right direction.

BYU is jockeying for position to land Mag with San Diego State, which historically lands hard-nosed defenders like Mag in its sleep. Mag is a player that could go either way at the moment.
