BYU Football opens as a 10-point favorite over Wyoming
BYU football overcame a double-digit spread against themselves when they went to Gerald J. Ford Stadium and took down SMU with a score of 18-15. This weekend, the roles are reversed as BYU is strongly favored to take down Wyoming.
Despite the recent history of Big 12 teams visiting Laramie (specifically Texas Tech's non-conference upset at the hands of the Cowboys last season), guaranteeing a win could be a bit premature. Though BYU pulled off the upset last weekend, their offense was abysmal to the point that the surprise victory was bitter-sweet.
As you look deeper into this matchup, though, the point spread makes sense. The Cougars are currently 10-point favorites for their road matchup against Wyoming, and carry the momentum of a 2-0 start to their season. In direct contrast, Wyoming enters this matchup with a winless record thanks to a beatdown at the hands of Arizona State and a loss to the mighty Idaho Vandals (I'm only kind of joking).
BYU is currently 2-0 against the spread this season, and after overachieving for the first few games of the season will look to keep that momentum high with the Big 12 conference schedule looming.
