BYU football is on a roll this season, and national media is set to cover the Cougars as they take on a scrappy Arizona squad this weekend in Provo. Big Noon Kickoff, FOX's alternative to ESPN's College Gameday, has announced they'll be moving their set to the campus of Brigham Young University for a Big 12 battle between the Cougars and the Wildcats.
This is the first time that a national television preview show has set up shop in Provo, Utah, as the before-mentioned ESPN College Gameday visited campus in 2009 for a top-25 clash between BYU and 8th-ranked TCU back in the Mountain West days. That game ended poorly for Bronco Mendenhall and company, and Kalani Sitake will look to buck any losing trend this weekend.
BYU is sitting at 5-0 with a 14th-ranked squad in the AP Poll, and Arizona is 3-2 coming fresh off a home loss to the red-hot Red Raiders. The Wildcats are no stranger to earning road wins in the beehive state, though, as Noah Fifita and the Arizona offense took down Utah in SLC two weeks ago.
This won't be an easy win for BYU, but it's certainly a major moment for the football program's history.
BYU and Arizona will kick off inside LaVell Edwards Stadium at 2:00 MT this Saturday, October 12.
